Iron Sharpens Iron!

Have you ever heard the expression, “Iron Sharpens Iron? It’s not just an expression at SAWTST. We go for the best and the brightest. Every person brought to the team is an important part of the organization. With varying levels of experience among our team, there’s no better opportunity than our annual corporate meeting, typically held in March, to sharpen those irons by putting our heads together to forecast for the upcoming years.

This month, the corporate team flew in from different parts of the country and gathered in Newnan, GA to discuss strategies and implementation goals for the company. For two intense days, each department head presented on their individual department areas; sharing what they do day-to-day and how understanding the varied roles of the company help to make a more cohesive and efficient team to serve our customers.

Each of us can benefit from someone from outside the team looking in and providing insights to make us a better organization. SAWTST brought in a communications expert to help us understand and interpret how modes of communications are received and what we can do to breakdown any communication barriers.

It wasn’t all work though! In between work sessions, the teams played Contract Trivia (I just made up that name) where the more you knew about SAWTST, put you in position to win monetary gift cards. This is certainly one way a team effort comes into play. We also dove head first into the one-on-one “tell me about yourself” sessions to learn more about our team members.

Fresh off the annual conference, we come back to our respective offices and look forward to putting all the plans we have for the organization and its employees into action.
